The future relevance surveys

Each trend identified was assigned by the Risk Observatory to one of ten trend categories:

• Digital transformation and connectivity
• New technologies
• Globalization
• The economy
• New work
• Climate change, nature and resource conservation, the low-carbon economy
• Mobility
• Infrastructure
• Demographic developments and diversity
• Social affairs and health

For each trend category, a survey was conducted in which experts with relevant scientific expertise were asked to assess the trends. Occupational safety and health experts were also among the survey participants. The survey results revealed 36 top trends across all trend categories, i.e. trends with a major impact on the world of work and on workplace safety and health.
