On July 17, 2017 a delegation of the French institute Eurogip headed by director Rafael Haeflinger visited DGUV headquartes in Berlin to discuss current challenges for the statutory accident insurance schemes in France and Germany. The effects of digitalization on accident insurance systems were a main point of discussion, notably the protection of the self-employed and platform workers. Eurogip was particularly interested in best practices with regard to rehabilitation and return to work as well as the economic added value of investment in rehabilitation. Of key French interest is the question of how to prevent accidents and occupational diseases in the area of household-related services including care at home. It was agreed to install a Franco-German expert group on this subject.
