Assessment of dried plasma spots (DPS) as an appropriate sample matrix for the measurement of circulating calretinin

Microsampling using filter cards for dried blood spots and dried plasma spots is a well-established technique. The results demonstrated that calretinin, a biomarker for the early detection of mesothelioma, could be measured reliably, with good agreement to convential plasma.

Mortality data collection by local authorities compared to a cancer register

In Germany, mortality data for scientific research is often only available through municipal offices, and is rarely found in registries. This study collects and compares mortality data from these two sources. Hovanec et al. concluded that follow-up data from the cancer registry were generally more informative than data from municipal offices.

This online survey investigates the prevalence of depressive and anxiety symptoms in a large sample of 34,303 participants from the German cohort for digital health research (DigiHero).
