Explore Dresden on your own!
A trip to Dresden is always a great experience. Learn about the many faces of the city and discover its secrets.
At a glance
The Altstadt is the centre of city life: It is home to the city hall and to important cultural institutions from the Old Masters Picture Gallery, Semper Opera House and the State Theatre to the Green Vault. Between Altmarkt and Neumarkt squares, Prager Strasse and Postplatz you will find plenty of places to shop, eat and drink. Attractions in Town
Cultural Institutions
The range of shops on offer is huge, with shopping centres and smaller arcades booming throughout the city. The Prager Strasse is naturally home to all big brands and chains. It's a blend of distinctive urban architecture and opportunities to relax and shopping.

Even as Prager Strasse ends the top-quality shopping experience continues just over the road at the Altmarkt-Galerie. The Altmarkt itself and the surrounding streets are lined with smaller boutiques.
Altmarkt-Galerie Dresden

Dresden boasts a mouth-watering selection of excellent restaurants in fantastic locations.

Attractions in the City Region:
There are plenty of things to see in Dresden’s downtown area. But a few excursions beyond the Neumarkt and Altmarkt quarters are worth taking even if your time is limited.

Public Transport / Tram connections
Every 10/15 minutes the tram No 7 (destination: “Pennrich”) leaves in the direction of the city centre (e.g. stop: “Pirnaischer Platz”). It takes about 20 minutes. Tickets are available at the hotel reception or at the ticket machine on the tram. For the latter one you will need coins.
