Contact:
Performance of a long-term study into the effectiveness of activities conducted by OSH professionals
Project-Nr. IAG480000
Status:
ongoing 01/2006
Aims:
A long-term study with reasonable distribution is to be conducted in the form of an online questionnaire of OHS professionals from all 14 branches of industry within the industrial BGs. The long-term study is to begin with at least 2,100 active interview partners. Where possible, the survey is to be limited to OHS professionals who have completed the new-style training and who can be reached by e-mail. It is also intended to deliver information for different sizes of company. Particular consideration is to be given to small and medium-sized enterprises. In addition, studies are to be conducted in 300 enterprises in each of which up to four individuals concerned with occupational safety and health are to be interviewed (managers/business owners, members of works councils, labour inspectors of the BGs and regional authorities, and company physicians). These company studies are to take the form of a long-term online poll.
Activities/Methods:
The project is divided into four extensive task areas. Task Area 1 involves the analysis of German specialist literature concerned with the work of OSH professionals and international literature concerning comparable activities. The subsequent task areas deal with the development of a survey instrument (Task Area 2), the compilation, acquisition and maintenance of the random sample (Task Area 3), and the conducting of surveys and questionnaires and evaluation of their results (Task Area 4). The first survey is to begin in January 2005.
