The statutory accident insurance system is one of Germany's largest non-governmental providers of education and training. The statutory accident insurance institutions in Germany and their umbrella association maintain 37 training institutions, the facilities of which reflect the latest developments in adult education. The objective is to enable what has been learnt to be transferred to day-to-day work processes.

First-aid training is provided in Germany by other organizations on behalf of the statutory accident insurance institutions. The statutory accident insurance institutions are responsible for quality assurance in this case.
