In 2022, nearly 64,6 million people in Germany were insured against work-related, commuting and school accidents and against occupational diseases. This figure includes children in schools, nursery schools and after-school care centres, and students in higher education.

In 2022, approx. 3.8 million companies and educational institutions fell within the responsibility of the DGUV members, including 3.2 million companies in the industrial sector and more than 144,000 educational institutions covered by the pupil accident insurance.
